WAREHOUSE MANAGER (Food Manufacturing Company)

Dessert Holdings is seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead all warehouse and logistics operations at our Dianne’s Fine Desserts facility in Newburyport, MA. This critical role oversees the end-to-end flow of materials—from receiving and storage to inventory management, production supply, and finished goods shipping. The ideal candidate will champion safety, regulatory compliance, inventory accuracy, and team development, while driving continuous improvement and supporting key operational metrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage receiving, shipping, and warehousing processes with a focus on FIFO and inventory control.
  • Monitor team adherence to warehouse systems and procedures, auditing compliance and ensuring best practices.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and monthly physical inventories; reconcile data to maintain accurate inventory records in Microsoft D365.
  • Uphold inventory integrity and traceability through consistent lot tracking and system usage.
  • Plan and manage departmental budgets, review expense trends, and take corrective actions to achieve financial goals.
  • Align labor scheduling and costs with budgeted targets while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including HACCP, GFSI/FSSC22000, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and performance expectations.
  • Drive departmental continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service.
  • Recruit, coach, and manage performance of team members to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Analyze operational reports, identify trends, and implement solutions to improve KPIs and service levels.
  • Lead and participate in management and safety meetings, collaborating cross-functionally to resolve challenges and support company goals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve warehouse-related issues, including shipping errors, inventory discrepancies, and customer concerns.
Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of warehouse management experience in a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success in driving process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and mentor high-performing teams.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to provide clear strategic direction and execute plans.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems; Microsoft D365 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and inventory control standards (HACCP, GFSI, etc.).
