Job description

Summary:

Line Operator will operate, set-up and dissemble machine to ensure achievement of the department goal. Ensure employees safety, training, food safety training, quality control, labor cost, materials proper utilization, flow efficiencies and all other resources involved in a daily production of department. Special attention should be paid to the area of cleanliness and organization of raw materials and packaging.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Needs to arrive one hour before the start of the shift to ensure Press is organized according to daily Production orders.

· Must insure that Press is ready to run at the required schedule time.

· Need to fill out the Start up Supervisor Checklist daily. Checklist must be turned in to Production Manager daily.

· Must practice and enforce all General Manufacturing Practices regulations, and all proper Personal Protective Equipment regulations. If there is an immediate hazard or safety violation, Lead Operator are responsible for terminating the line operations until necessary corrective actions and resolutions have been completed.

· Responsible for monitoring, operating, managing and controlling equipment temperatures, waste, quality, safety and labor cost.

· Need to walk the entire area of the department to visually inspect their areas of responsibility insuring that equipment and tools are always working at the best condition possible. If any issues are found the Line Operator is responsible for documenting and submitting a work order to the affiliated department. All issues need to be communicated to the Production Manager.

· Ultimately responsible for reporting activities that affect their production efficiencies.

· Must maintain the work area clean and organized at all time’s, and return unused materials to warehouse daily.

· Accidents of any type need to be immediately reported to the Production Manager. Detailed explanation i.e. Employee Name, Date, Time, Cause, etc. of the incident needs to be documented on the Accident report form.

  • Must be in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Hazard Analysis Risk-based Preventative Control (HARPC).

Education and/or Experience:

· High School diploma or GED desirable

· Food manufacturing experience preferred

Skills and abilities:

· Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

· Must be able to count, add and subtract at an eighth grade level

· Must be able to speak and read English and Spanish

· Must be able to write legibly in English and Spanish

· Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds with little or no difficulty

· Must be able to stand a long period of time.
