Job description

This position is ideal for a seasoned Low Voltage Installation Technician or Field Service Technician looking to transition into a more stable, operations-focused role without losing touch with the technical side of the business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, residential security, networking, and AV installations, along with the organizational skills to manage inventory, materials, and equipment that support active field projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily inventory operations, ensuring inventory accuracy and proper stock levels.

  • Monitor inventory movement and implement best practices for inventory control.

  • Coordinate inventory flow between vendors, warehouse, and field technicians.

  • Ensure technicians have the necessary tools, equipment, and materials for scheduled installations.

  • Serve as the communication bridge between warehouse operations and field installation teams.

  • Troubleshoot inventory or material shortages that could impact active job sites.

  • Analyze inventory reports and make recommendations to improve efficiency.

  • Handle customer and internal inquiries regarding inventory availability and order fulfillment.

  • Maintain an organized warehouse environment and support operational improvements.

Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience installing Low Voltage systems.

  • Experience installing residential security systems.

  • Experience installing and configuring residential networks, including:

    • Routers

    • Switches

    • Wireless Access Points

  • Experience with residential audio and video (AV) systems.

  • Strong understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with field technicians, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with inventory management software.

  • Background in logistics or supply chain operations.

  • Experience supporting field service or technical installation teams.

  • Certifications or hands-on experience with one or more of the following automation/control platforms:

    • Control4

    • Savant

    • Lutron

    • Crestron

    • or similar home automation systems.
