Inventory Control Clerk – 77032
Location: North Houston – 77032
Pay: 17.00-18.00 per hour
Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm, plus OT
 
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Clerk to join our freight forwarding warehouse team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through continuous cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies. The ideal candidate has extensive experience operating scissor lifts and using RF scanners in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is primarily dedicated to inventory control and requires spending the majority of the workday performing physical inventory counts.
 
Essential Responsibilities
Perform daily cycle counts and full inventory audits throughout the warehouse.
Utilize RF scanners to accurately scan, verify, and update inventory transactions.
Operate scissor lifts safely to count and verify inventory stored in elevated rack locations.
Investigate, identify, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Verify product locations, quantities, lot numbers, and serial numbers.
Work closely with warehouse operations to ensure inventory accuracy and proper stock rotation.
Report inventory variances and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure inventory locations are organized and properly labeled.
Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations while operating warehouse equipment.
Support receiving and shipping departments with inventory verification as needed.
 
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of inventory control experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or freight forwarding environment.
Must have at least 3 years’ of experience operating scissor lifts in high-bay warehouse environments.
Extensive experience using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Strong understanding of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and inventory software.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout an entire shift.
Experience with ERP/WMS systems such as CargoWise, SAP, Manhattan, or similar platforms.
 
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and climbing.
Comfortable working at heights while operating scissor lifts.
Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
