Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate counts of all inventory items.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and receiving errors.
- Perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies with Operations leadership.
- Update inventory on the ERP systems with adjustments.
- Assist management team during annual inventory preparations and physical inventory.
- Provide and maintain log of inventory discrepancies and adjustments.
Work Environment
-This role operates inside an active steel service center with overhead cranes and processing equipment. Safety and communication are essential.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in a steel service center or metals warehouse.
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and verify tolerances.
- Familiarity with carbon, alloy, stainless, and structural steel.
- Strong understanding of grades, gauges, lengths, and common steel terminology.
- Ability to read mill certs and identify material by spec.
- Comfortable using inventory software.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a warehouse environment.
- Detail-driven, reliable, and organized.
- Strong documentation habits and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft Excell experience.
- Forklift and overhead crane operation; safe rigging practices.
