Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for operating Warehouse and Inventory equipment at maximum efficiency level.
  • Performs and teaches others to diagnose and repair routine equipment issues, and instills the importance of preventative maintenance and running equipment to specification.
  • Provides back-up support to the Sr. Process Technician, accountable for work cells when required without interruption to the process.
  • Provides verbal and written communication to Sr. Process Technician with regard to equipment, process, maintenance, quality, staff or other operational issues within the cell that may impact delivery of material.
  • Accepts coaching and direction from others on system applications, processes and behaviors appropriate to the cell.
  • Participates in training in conjunction with the VMC “Progression” program to improve knowledge and skill related to the Process Technician position. Follows a planned program of continuous learning to complete all mandatory skill blocks. Maintains current skills required for the position, and may pursue additional learning through optional and/or limited skill blocks.
  • Operates in a coaching role with other Process Technicians within the cell/team and demonstrates behavior that sets the example within the cell/team regarding continuous process improvement, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Encourages collaboration within the group that creates ownership and pride in the delivery of error free first pass quality and minimal re-work/waste.
  • Accomplish duties using safe work practices and equipment while being responsible for reporting all injuries and observed unsafe conditions. Coach fellow employees on safe work practices as appropriate and contributes to the overall success of the Company’s safety program.
  • Perform related work and additional duties as needed or required.
Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • Twelve to twenty-four months of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical documents, instructions, or reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and use critical thinking to reach a resolution.
  • Ability to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment
  • Basic computer and office application skills. SAP experience preferred.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 #.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders and consistently work at varying heights.
  • Valid driver’s license required or eligible to get a valid Florida state driver’s license.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers.
  • Work in a noisy area using hearing protection.
  • Must be available to work Overtime – including weekends
