Purpose of Position:

Assist in inventory management by placing low-stock POs and maintaining internal inventory levels. Support the growth and optimization of the pickleball/padel product assortment by building strong vendor relationships, monitoring and maintaining product mix, and assisting in promotional development.


General Responsibilities

  • Create promotional POs to maintain margins prior to sale periods, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist in developing product strategies, creating assortment plans, and maintaining product selection.
  • Maintain reports to track sales reperformance and monitor margins in relation to revenue targets.
  • Analyze sales reports and inventory levels to make strategy recommendations.
  • Periodically sweep pricing flags, category flags, and promotional categories within internal software to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain appropriate min/max levels for assigned product categories to meet inventory targets.
  • Ensure that product is accurately displayed on the website by performing sweeps as assigned.
  • Create fill-in purchase orders as necessary, maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Coordinate transfer orders between companies as assigned.
  • Accurately create products in internal software in a timely manner, as needed.
  • Maintain product pricing per vendor MAP policies as assigned, using Prisync to monitor competition.
  • Obtain and maintain general knowledge of padel product and categories to make informed purchasing decisions.

Purchase Order Follow Up

  • Follow-up with vendors regarding late purchase orders, communicating effectively both internally and externally.
  • Follow-up with the Customer Service department regarding changes to expected arrival dates for products on customer orders.
  • Maintain quantities and backorder dates on purchase orders to ensure accurate information is reflected on our website(s).

Vendor Communication

  • Foster strong vendor relationships to support effective communication and seamless collaboration.
  • Follow-up with vendors regarding backorder dates, mis-shipped items, and un-received POs.
  • Facilitate communication between accounting and vendors regarding pricing discrepancies.
  • Enter POs on vendor B2B websites, as assigned.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding receiving issues (e.g. damaged product, RAs).

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain sales, inventory, and turns reports for internal teams and external partners as assigned, ensuring accurate and timely distribution.
  • Create and distribute specialized vendor-facing reports as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and passion for pickleball/padel strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with products associated with the work.
  • Display strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Practice confidentiality due to the nature of information role is privy to.
  • Be proficient in math and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.


Work Environment:

This role functions within a professional and collaborative office setting, regularly utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, tablets and phones for day-to-day tasks. This is an inclusive and team-oriented environment, where communication and collaboration are key. The office is designed to promote both focused work and creative brainstorming.
