Position Summary... What you'll do...Role summary:
Join Walmart’s Information Systems Division as a Systems Administrator, Software, where you will support application performance, reliability, and continuous improvement. This role involves collaborating on code reviews, troubleshooting issues, implementing enhancements, and participating in change management processes. You will contribute to team projects by developing, testing, and documenting software solutions while ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance standards. The position requires strong technical expertise, effective communication, and a commitment to upholding company values to deliver reliable and efficient software systems that support Walmart’s operational goals.
About the team:
The Command and Control Center Team ensures continuous operation of critical business applications, maintaining system availability and reliability for customers and associates. As part of the Retail Services Team, members support essential systems across Pharmacies, Vision Centers, Auto Care, Wireless Kiosks, and HR applications. The team promptly addresses system outages, critical incidents, and escalations through close collaboration with operations and engineering groups. Strong technical expertise in application architecture is applied to design monitoring dashboards and alerts, enhancing the ability to detect and resolve issues efficiently while supporting Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence and ethical standards.
What you'll do:
  • Support Information Systems applications by participating in code reviews, monitoring alerts, and ensuring application performance and reliability.
  • Identify and implement improvements to software products, applications, and monitoring tools.
  • Respond to user inquiries and troubleshoot issues, following defined escalation procedures.
  • Manage major incidents to ensure prompt and effective resolution.
  • Create and maintain key dashboards to enhance issues detection and accelerate response times.
  • Monitor incident trends to identify potential major issues and respond proactively to prevent outages.
  • Uphold company policies, ethical standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze root causes, and resolve technical issues efficiently following escalation procedures.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to build partnerships and support business needs.
  • Experience troubleshooting large-scale application, with a background in application and infrastructure support.
  • Experience in leading major incident calls, including confidently speaking up and asking pertinent questions to keep the focus on resolving the issues effectively.
  • Experience with Grafana, Open Observe.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Platform (Incident and Knowledge Management)
  • Able to identify incident trends and drive to incidents to permanent resolution.
  • Knowledgeable about application development concepts including python.

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $110,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
