Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Safely and efficiently stage, load, and unload finished product and raw materials through the use of material handling equipment, attachments, tools and accessories. Stock and maintain warehouse inventory & warehouse cleanliness at all times ensuring the safety of yourself and others.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Outbound and inbound inventory receiving, etc,
  • Complete damage reports, product, wrapping, pallet, bundle, crate, etc.
  • Safely and timely prepare and load products for transport.
  • Safely and timely stage products for loading.
  • Safely and timely load products onto truck, and/or railcar.
  • Move products safely into warehouse inventory storage.
  • Move waste & scrap into dumpsters as needed.
  • Responsible for quality control - damaged products.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Operate sit down forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Perform daily forklift safety checks, preventive maintenance and report any issues.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors.
  • Keep clean and maintain work area.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Maintains thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and applicable state certification for forklifts.
  • 2+ years of forklift experience working in similar industry. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience. Clamp exp preferred.
  • Good oral English and written communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
  • Ability to stay a team player and meet deadlines.
