What are Wags, and what do they do?

Wags is a pet care service company that primarily offers dog walking, pet sitting, and related pet care services. Their professionals, often referred to as 'Wag! Walkers,' provide on-demand or scheduled dog walks, pet sitting, boarding, and drop-in visits. The company connects pet owners with vetted caregivers through a mobile app, ensuring pets receive exercise, care, and attention when their owners are away or busy. Wags also offers features like real-time GPS tracking, photo updates, and personalized care instructions to give pet owners peace of mind. Their services are available in many cities across the United States.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Dog Walker (Wags) and why are they important?

To thrive as a Dog Walker, you need a genuine love for animals, physical stamina, and a basic understanding of pet care, often supported by prior experience with dogs. Familiarity with GPS tracking apps, scheduling systems, and pet first aid certification is typically beneficial. Excellent communication, reliability, and patience help foster positive relationships with both clients and their pets. These skills ensure the safety, well-being, and satisfaction of the dogs and their owners, which is crucial for building trust and repeat business.

What are some common challenges faced by dog walkers working with Wags, and how can they be managed?

Dog walkers working with Wags often encounter challenges such as managing unpredictable pet behavior, navigating varied weather conditions, and coordinating schedules with pet owners. Building strong communication with clients and understanding each dog's needs can help prevent issues during walks. Additionally, staying organized and using Wags' app features can streamline scheduling and ensure all client instructions are followed, leading to a smoother experience both for the walker and the pets.
