The Puppy Palace Dog Wash is looking for groomers to fill position at our location in Woodlawn, MD.

This is 100% commission based job. 55% split on grooming service + 100% of the tips

Shift Availability/Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday and every other weekend availability
  • Open between 9am - 5:30pm on Monday - Saturday
  • Sundays open between 10am - 2pm

Job Type:

  • Full time & Part-time

Please ensure you are experienced grooming dogs with at least one year experience working in a salon before applying for this position.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and energetic Professional Dog Groomer to join our team. As a Stylist at Puppy Palace, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch, customized grooming services. You must be able to work one-on-one with pets, using techniques that ensure they feel pampered rather than stressed. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision Styling & Grooming: Perform complete, high-quality grooming services including custom scissoring, pattern clips, breed-standard cuts, de-matting, and safe shave-downs only when necessary.
  • Full-Service Care: Conduct high-quality bathing using designated specialty shampoos (oatmeal, whitening, flea-treatment), warm water baths, towel/warm drying, and brushed air fluffing.
  • Technical Technical Skills: Safely perform nail clipping and filing (Dremel), inner and outer ear cleaning (including hair plucking), hair clipping between paw pads, and teeth brushing.
  • Pet Health & Safety: Always put the well-being and safety of the pet first. Maintain a stress-free environment, handling anxious, elderly, or squirmy dogs with patience and compassion.
  • Customer Consultation: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients, assessing their dog's coat condition, and consulting on cut preferences to ensure they receive "top-notch grooming at great prices."
  • Salon Cleanliness: Maintain a sanitary, clean, and organized grooming station. Exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and occasional "accidents" is part of the standard shift.

Successful candidates should:

  • Must have professional dog groomer experience
  • Cat grooming experience is a plus
  • Have the ability to groom dogs to breed standard, including dematting, shavedowns, pattern clips, and hand scissoring
  • Be willing and able to groom dogs to specific customer needs
  • Be a team player who chips in and helps other staff members when necessary
  • Be self-motivated, able to work independently, and as team
  • Able to lift 50lb plus dogs
  • Will receive 55% commission plus tips
  • Will need to provide resume and demo
