Job description

Job Summary
Job Description: Berkeley High School is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated coaches for our Girls Lacrosse program. Coaches will work under the supervision of the Athletic Department and the Head Coach, Coach Greg Tschider. You will be joining a developed program coming off back-to-back league championships with deep runs in the section playoffs BUT with tons of room for growth. We are looking at this season as a unique opportunity to "reset" and build a vertically aligned program culture grounded in sportsmanship, skill development, and positive student-athlete experiences.
Major Responsibilities:
Coaching & Mentorship: Teach fundamental skills, physical conditioning, and game strategies while modeling the principles of a PCA "Double-Goal Coach" (striving to win while teaching life lessons).
Safety and Compliance: Prioritize student-athlete well-being, including injury prevention, proper warm-up techniques, and following all school disciplinary and safety policies and ensure the program follows all rules and regulations of the CIF, NCS, WACC, and Berkeley Unified School District.
Position and technical skills: Assistant coaches are expected to know and run drills and be open to learning new ways of coaching. Please let us know if you have any specialties.
JV Head Coach: you will be a program leader taking direction from the varsity head coach to create a cohesive, positive, and vertically aligned program
Requirements (in order of importance):
Ability to set a positive example for athletes through appropriate language, respect for officials, and good sportsmanship.
Commitment to the academic success and character development of student-athletes.
Demonstrated knowledge of lacrosse strategies and fundamental skills.
Current coaching certifications as required by BUSD and CIF.
