Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for bridge, structures, foundation, marine, lock, dam, and transportation projects.
• Prepare or review estimate quantity takeoffs, pricing, production rates, and assumptions for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, schedules, and contract requirements.
• Develop project phasing, construction sequencing, means and methods, and bid strategies.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing, identify scope gaps, and assess project risks.
• Conduct site visits and evaluate access, staging, utility conflicts, environmental constraints, and other project-specific challenges.
• Support Design-Build and Joint Venture pursuits when required.
• Mentor junior estimators and assist in estimate reviews and team development.
• Participate in project handoff meetings and post-bid reviews.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent heavy civil construction experience may be substituted.
• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience estimating bridge construction, bridge rehabilitation, structural concrete, foundations, locks and dams, marine structures, or similar heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, unit pricing, means and methods, and construction sequencing.
• Proficiency with B2W Estimate (or equivalent), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
Preferred Experience
• NYSDOT and/or VTrans bridge projects.
• Design-Build or Joint Venture pursuits.
• Structural steel erection, deep foundations, cofferdams, temporary works, and marine construction.
• Leadership, mentoring, or oversight of estimating personnel.
Compensation:Competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance with a company-funded retirement plan.
Salary Range $120,000 - $135,000
Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
