VRAs, or Veterans Recruitment Appointments, are special hiring authorities used by federal agencies to recruit and hire eligible veterans into federal jobs. The VRA allows agencies to appoint eligible veterans to jobs without competition. This means veterans can be hired more easily and quickly, provided they meet the job's qualifications. VRAs are intended to help veterans transition into civilian federal employment after their military service.
