About the role:
We are looking for a Regulator (VR) Design Engineer to join our growing Processor Design group, advancing the art of high-performance System-On-Chip (SOC) design.
In this role, you will design and implement various DC-DC buck/boost converters. This would involve collaborating with various other teams including power management, system architecture, platform, packaging and die teams.
What you'll achieve:
  • Work with various design teams to develop VR specifications and power-management strategy
  • Assess various DC-DC converter configurations to develop the best-suited, application-specific design
  • Design, develop and implement VR designs
  • Work with layout designers to ensure layout meets design specification and follows best known layout practices
  • Generate and deliver design collaterals for integration
  • Develop post-silicon validation plans to ensure silicon meets specifications
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to other engineers

About you:
  • In-depth experience working on buck/boost DC-DC converters and Linear Drop-Out (LDO) regulators
  • Expertise in Analog and Mixed-Signal circuit design with in-depth understanding of key concepts like noise, mismatch, high bandwidth building blocks, resonance, etc.
  • Solid Grasp of multi-loop control theory principles
  • Good understanding of magnetics integration into systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with designing in latest FinFet technology nodes is a plus
  • Experience with Cadence design suite for schematic entry, layout and Spice simulations
  • Electrical or Computer Engineering - Bachelor's degree & 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree & 6 years; or PhD & 3 years

The full base pay range for this role is between $182,000 and $273,000, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $195,000 and $292,000.
