Job Title: VPK Teacher (Voluntary Prekindergarten)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic VPK Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in a structured, nurturing classroom Catholic environment. The VPK Teacher is responsible for implementing the VPK curriculum to support school readiness in literacy, math, social-emotional development, and early learning skills in alignment with state standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with VPK standards

  • Create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Support childrens cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development

  • Maintain accurate documentation, assessments, and attendance as required by VPK guidelines

  • Conduct and track child assessments (such as readiness or progress monitoring tools)

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and guardians

  • Supervise children at all times, including during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and administrative staff

  • Follow all licensing, safety, and VPK program requirements

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of CLASS

  • Current or able to attain VPK certification and training, as required by the state

  • CDA preferred but not required

  • Experience teaching preschool or prekindergarten-aged children

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and classroom management

  • Employment is conditional upon the successful fulfillment of a Level II Background Screening and Safe Environment Training.
