Reporting to the Chief Transformation & Technology Officer (CTTO) and serving as a member of BCAA's Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategic Ventures will play a pivotal role in shaping our long-term growth strategy through innovation, strategic partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside executiveand seniorleadership to evaluate emerging markets,identifynew business opportunities, establish BCAA's corporate development capability, and help shape the future direction of one of British Columbia's most trusted organizations.

What You'll Do

As Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategic Ventures, you will lead the identification, evaluation, and advancement of strategic growth opportunities that create long-term value for BCAA.

Lead Corporate Development

  • Establish and lead BCAA's corporate development and M&A capability.

  • Identifyand evaluate acquisition targets and strategic partnership opportunities aligned with BCAA's growth strategy.

  • Lead preliminary due diligence, valuation analysis, financial modelling, and risk assessments.

  • Assess transaction structures and integration considerations to maximize strategic and financial value.

  • Partner closely with Corporate Finance, Legal, and executiveand seniorleadership throughout the evaluation process.

Drive Strategic Growth

  • Identifyand assess new business opportunities that support BCAA's long-term strategy.

  • Develop business cases, investment recommendations, and executive-level presentations to support strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct market, competitive, financial, and operational analysis to evaluate commercial opportunities.

  • Lead feasibility assessments, scenario planning, and strategic opportunity analysis.

Advance Innovation

  • Lead BCAA's Strategic Ventures pipeline byidentifyingand advancing new business concepts.

  • Monitor industry trends, consumer behaviour, demographic shifts, and emerging technologies toidentifyfuture growth opportunities.

  • Continue to evolve the frameworks and processes that support disciplined innovation and experimentation.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to executiveand seniorleadership on innovation, market opportunities, and business model evolution.

Influence Across the Enterprise

  • Partner withseniorleaders across the organization to evaluate and advance strategic initiatives.

  • Present recommendations and strategic insights to the Executive Team and Board.

  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Legal, Technology, Marketing, Operations, and other business functions to support successful execution.

What You'll Bring

We'relooking for an accomplishedsenior professionalwho combines strategic thinking with strong commercial and financial acumen.

You will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA or equivalent graduate education is considered an asset).

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, management consulting, venture development, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting M&A transactions, including financial assessment, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring, and strategic partnerships.

  • Exceptional financial modelling and business case development skills.

  • Proven ability to influence executive leadership and lead complex enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.

  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build credibility and influence across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • A balance of strategic vision and practical execution with a passion for innovation and long-term growth.
