Salary Range: $150,000.00 To $200,000.00 Annually

Overview

The Vice President of Operations will lead all aspects of the division's on-site vertical construction operations. This position is highly integrated with the company's extensive off-site land development functions. Knowledge of a wide range of vertical and horizontal operations is a major plus. Knowledge and experience in customer service operations are required. This person serves as a strategic partner to the Division President in executing goals and initiatives related to timely construction completion and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, hires, evaluates, trains, develops, and retains a productive and highly engaged construction field operations team and customer service department.
  • Develops a positive, team- and achievement-oriented work culture for staff across all operations-related departments.
  • Ensures understanding of regulatory policies related to energy management and green building methods.
  • Champions quality standards, scheduling deadlines, and budgets.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors processes to meet the Company's standards for quality construction and customer satisfaction.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments.
  • Ensures compliance with standardized scopes of work.
  • Responsible for all job site compliance programs, including training on and implementing scopes of work, meeting building codes, and complying with environmental laws, SWPPP, OSHA, and other regulations.
  • Oversees the completion of all construction work, from off-site through 100% completion of homes at closing, and provides timely and effective customer service.
  • Makes strategic adjustments to schedules and procedures based on business needs and field conditions.
  • Controls costs and manages quality through scheduling, communication, and management of all disciplines.
  • Forecasts financial requirements; schedules and monitors expenditures, analyzes variances, and initiates corrective actions where necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in single- and multi-family construction management or another related field. Experience in higher-density construction products is required, including townhome construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience.
  • Strong demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Land development experience preferred.
  • Expert in construction sciences, with strong knowledge of building codes and best practices related to customer care and satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Newstar or a similar construction management program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
