Job description

Job Description:

Client is hiring a VP of Asset Management & Operations to help scale the platform and own execution across the portfolio.

This is not a traditional asset management role. We are looking for an operator and builder - someone who can think like an owner (both company owner and asset owner), solve problems in real time, drive performance across assets and teams, and play a key role in building our operating platform.

This role will work directly with the founder and will be responsible for turning strategy into execution across operations, asset management, and growth. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, systems-oriented, and execution-driven, with an institutional approach to performance and accountability. This is an opportunity to help build a company, not just manage assets.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own property-level performance across the portfolio

  • Oversee and hold property management teams accountable to KPIs and business plans

  • Execute value-add strategies including renovations, leasing, and expense optimization

  • Build and implement systems, reporting, and operational processes across the platform

  • Identify and drive NOI growth opportunities at the asset level

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and ongoing asset performance tracking

  • Partner on acquisitions and translate deals into executable business plans

  • Help build the operating infrastructure of a growing company

  • Recruit, hire, and train team members across property management and operations, with full responsibility for building and developing a high-performing, accountable team as the platform scales

Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of multifamily real estate experience across operations, asset management, or investments

  • Demonstrated track record of improving asset performance (rent growth, expense control, NOI expansion)

  • Experience overseeing property management and/or asset management teams and driving accountability

  • Strong understanding of value-add execution, budgeting, and business plan implementation

  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and execution level

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of ownership and accountability

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited structure

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Passion for building and leveraging technology to drive operational efficiency, data visibility, and scalability across the platform

Additional Details:

  • High-ownership role with direct exposure to all aspects of the business

  • Significant opportunity for growth and leadership within the company

  • Direct access to founder and involvement in strategic decisions

  • This is an entrepreneurial role and an opportunity to have a hand in building a company
