Faith-Based Nonprofit Senior Living Organization in The Woodlands, Texas

We are seeking a compassionate and strategic Vice President of Human Resources to join our executive leadership team and help guide a faith-based, nonprofit senior living organization dedicated to serving older adults with dignity, compassion, and excellence.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of all human resource functions across the organization. Reporting directly to the President, this role ensures HR practices align with organizational mission, values, regulatory requirements, and operational goals.

The VP of Human Resources will lead initiatives in talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, workplace safety, performance management, and organizational culture while fostering a respectful, service-oriented, and faith-centered workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all Human Resources operations and initiatives
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices organization-wide
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and retention strategies to attract top talent
  • Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, grievance investigations, and corrective action processes
  • Administer employee compensation, benefits, wellness, recognition, leave, and performance evaluation programs
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Direct workplace safety and injury prevention initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, campus administrators, and department leaders to strengthen employee engagement and organizational culture
  • Maintain HR systems, employee records, and reporting processes
  • Champion the organization’s mission, values, and commitment to exceptional resident care
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.  SHRM or HRCI certification helpful if no degree in Human Resources
  • Prior demonstrated success in a senior-level Human Resources leadership role, particularly with respect to influencing and leading others
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies to operational and financial outcomes
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or faith-based organizations helpful, but not required
