The Vice President, Global Quality provides strategic leadership for the Global Innovation & Delivery (GID) quality organization, overseeing Product Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, and Quality Systems. This executive is responsible for establishing a unified global quality strategy to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-performing energy storage solutions across the entire product lifecycle, from product development and engineering through supplier management, manufacturing, commercialization, and customer delivery. The role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Field Service to strengthen quality performance, drive continuous improvement, reduce the cost of poor quality, and ensure compliance with global standards while fostering a culture of operational excellence. This position will implement a comprehensive QMS across product, manufacturing and supply chain to deliver world class quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the global quality strategy aligned with GID and business objectives.
  • Lead Product Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, and Quality Systems under a unified operating model.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to embed quality throughout product design, development, validation, and commercialization.
  • Establish enterprise quality standards, governance, metrics, and reporting across global operations.
  • Drive supplier quality performance through qualification, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strengthen manufacturing quality systems by improving process capability, first-pass yield, defect reduction, and product reliability.
  • Lead enterprise root cause analysis, CAPA, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and industry quality standards while maintaining the global Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Partner cross-functionally to reduce warranty costs, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance field performance.
  • Build and develop a high-performing global quality organization while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field; master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in quality within manufacturing, industrial technology, automotive, battery, energy, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership across Product Quality, Manufacturing Quality, and Supplier Quality in global operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO standards, CAPA, reliability engineering, and statistical quality methods.
  • Executive leadership experience driving organizational transformation, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or ASQ quality certifications preferred.
Success Measures
  • Improve Product Quality & Reliability by reducing defects, improving first-pass yield, and increasing overall product performance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through proactive quality management, defect prevention, warranty reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strengthen Supplier Quality Performance by improving supplier capability, reducing supplier PPM, and driving supplier accountability and development.
  • Drive Manufacturing Quality Excellence through standardized quality systems, process capability improvements, and reduced manufacturing defects.
  • Ensure Global Quality Compliance by maintaining an effective Quality Management System (QMS) and achieving compliance with regulatory, customer, and industry standards.
  • Build a High-Performance Quality Culture by fostering accountability, employee engagement, continuous improvement, and successful execution of New Product Introductions (NPI).
