Job description

LMI Technologies is the global leader in 3D smart sensing, inline metrology, and factory-hardened inspection systems. While continuing to expand our dominant 3D market position, we are also launching edge-AI solutions to capture strategic growth opportunities in the 2D smart camera space.

As the Vice President of Sales, you will serve as the chief commercial architect for our global sales engine. In this role, you will directly manage our key regional sales leadership teams, while indirectly overseeing a matrixed global organization of technical sales specialists, sales operations, and field applications engineers (FAEs). You will be responsible for translating LMI's advanced technical hardware and software capabilities into scalable, repeatable global revenue streams.

Work Authorization & Location Requirements
  • Work Authorization: Candidates must currently hold valid, unrestricted work authorization for either Canada or the United States.
  • Location Policy: We will consider applicants who are currently residing in, or are fully willing to relocate to, one of the following strategic regions to ensure physical proximity to our engineering and product teams:
    • Vancouver, BC (Burnaby Global Headquarters), or
    • Seattle / Bellevue, WA
  • Travel Accessibility: Permanent residency within close proximity to a major international airport hub to seamlessly facilitate the required 50% global travel to regional offices, distribution channels, and key OEM customers.
  • Compensation Framework: Highly performance-focused executive structure with a 60% Base / 40% Variable split.
Qualifications
  • You are a seasoned commercial executive who speaks the language of factory-floor engineering and enterprise procurement alike. You do not sell abstract software packages; you have a proven track record of selling complex hardware-plus-software solutions into harsh, discrete manufacturing environments.
  • Industrial Domain Expertise: 10โ€“15+ years of demonstrable sales leadership experience specifically within Industrial Machine Vision, Robotics, Industrial System Integration, or Industrial Sensing ecosystems.
  • Ecosystem Familiarity: Deep working knowledge of highโ€‘velocity, solutionโ€‘based sales cycles competing against or partnering with major factory automation players (e.g., Keyence, Cognex, SICK, Kuka, Universal Robots (UR), Fanuc, Banner Engineering, Omron, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or Festo).
  • Matrix Management Scale: Proven experience directly managing a senior leadership tier (Regional Development Managers/Directors) while indirectly guiding matrixed technical and operational support structures globally.
  • Technical Pedigree: A completed University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Commerce, or a highly related technical field that allows you to maintain immediate credibility with R&D teams.
  • Process Driven: Demonstrated success in developing scalable sales operations, reliable forecasting methods, and dataโ€‘driven pipeline governance.
  • Methodology Driven: Absolute discipline around CRM hygiene (Netsuite / Enterprise CRMs), sales pipeline diagnostics, predictable monthly forecasting operating rhythms, and channel margin optimization.
Your First 90 Days!

The learning curve at LMI is steep, technically demanding, and highly rewarding. Success in your first quarter will be strictly defined by execution across three foundational pillars:

  1. Connecting
    • Build authentic, trusted relationships with our four distinct regional sales teams to understand their regional wins, structural bottlenecks, and resource gaps.
    • Establish a consistent strategic presence at our Burnaby HQ, locking in cross-functional alignment with Product Management, Operations, Marketing, and Executive leadership.
  2. Learning
    • Dive deep into LMIโ€™s proprietary technical landscape, mastering the core differentiators of our Gocator 3D smart sensor line and our new GoPxL 2D smart camera architecture.
    • Analyze unique regional market variances to determine
