JOB DESCRIPTION: Amrize Cement Inc. seeks a Vice President Business Development in Chicago, IL, to drive strategic planning, including identifying and launching business development initiatives, implementing acquisition strategies, and coordinating integration efforts while ensuring accountability for results. Essential duties include:

  • Engages integration and strategy teams around Health & Safety as an overreaching value. Support US H&S organization in the monitoring of safety related leading indicators
  • Delivers annual MTP (Med-Term Plan) together with Finance to reflect the country-level financial and growth ambitions. Analyze and incorporate global/US near and long-term trends, relevant growth opportunities, competitive intelligence and risk analysis
  • Promotes cultural integration, celebrate synergy success stories
  • Engages and participates in US Executive Committee meetings. Support the President and US top management in the interactions with Group corporate functions and in cross-country projects
  • Maintains awareness of competitor strategies and tactics, through frequent financial and operational benchmarking
  • Sets the vision, strategic direction and oversees performance for all the departments under scope
  • Defines the Regions business cycle, implementing critical processes, progress updates and performance reports
  • Directs the approach on critical development investments, M&A, reserve replenishment initiatives, in collaboration with local GM's and functions
  • Develops regions nonorganic growth plan, including scope expansion, M&A, new revenue streams
  • Leads the approach on all Mega, multi product line projects, defining strategy, bidding and sourcing approach
  • Instills a culture of partnership and collaboration with the Regions P&L leaders, supporting their operational development, productivity and business growth

This position requires up to 50% national/domestic travel.

REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Business Administration, an engineering field, a legal field, or a related business field. The position requires 15 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, as a General Manager, M&A Lead/Manager, Commercial Director, or in a related position.

The position requires the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following:

  1. 15 years: Business development and operations;
  2. 10 years: Supply Chain and Logistics projects;
  3. 5 years: Leading a Profit & Loss (P&L) portion of a business; and
  4. 5 years: Implementing corporate acquisition strategies.

SALARY:   $324,534    (40 hours per week)
