Job description

HIM Director

ALIYA Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HIM Director to lead our medical record management system in accordance with State and Federal Regulations, professional standards of practice, and company and facility policies and procedures. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of medical records, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding patient rights.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead and manage the medical record system for our nursing centers, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies

  • Process ROI requests related to continuation of care, insurance, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner

  • Conduct instructional programs for facility staff on Health Information Management and total quality of management

  • Manage the credentialing process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Audit charts and orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Manage all orders, including ensuring physician signatures and monthly reviews

  • Scan documents and manage the PCC Misc Tab

  • Perform weekly checks on backup EMAR system

  • Process ADR requests and communicate with facility administrator, MDS Consultant, and VP of Clinical Reimbursement

  • Attend weekly Team meetings and participate in staff meetings, department head meetings, and other center meetings

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field
