OPPORTUNITY: LEARNING SPECIALIST - San Mateo, CA
Job Summary:
The Learning Specialist delivers engaging, instructor-led learning experiences through in-person classroom training, webinars, one-on-one coaching and web-based programs for both new and existing SRG employees, with an emphasis on SRG sales, customer service, and leadership development. Training will include, but is not limited to, integrated software systems and sales and customer service procedures.
They will be responsible for performing Learning needs assessments and delivering curriculum and learning materials and for managing all phases of Learning interventions.
The Learning Specialist role is to enhance the competencies of individual employees by conducting Learning programs that will boost employees' workplace performance in alliance with company's core values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Learning Process Management
  • Ensure the training database, LMS is up to date with attendance, and all training is properly recorded.
  • Monitor and manage the SRG Sales and Systems Coach Programs, which includes scheduling of coaches, tracking of completed meetings, and evaluating satisfaction surveys.
  • Monitor and Manage Mystery Shop program, which includes ordering, reviewing, assigning training, bonus processing, and evaluating results.

Training Delivery and Facilitation
  • Direct structured Learning experiences and monitor their outcomes.
  • Engage diverse audiences and manage group dynamics.
  • Deliver Learning courses via classroom, webinars, and in-person workshops.
  • Conduct sessions to acclimate new hires to the business.
  • Apply the ADDIE instructional design module to develop, implement, and evaluate effective learning solutions.
  • Coach learners and provide constructive feedback during and after sessions.

Instructional Design
  • Develop Learning that will groom employees for the next step of their career path.
  • Partner with the Director of Learning/VP to build annual Learning strategies and make program recommendations.
  • Develop or oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, Job aids and manuals.
  • Adapt content in real-time to meet portfolio needs.

Evaluating Needs and Impact
  • Identify Learning needs of employees by evaluating their strengths and weaknesses by reviewing performance reporting, evaluation scores, and manager feedback.
  • Assess Learning effectiveness by creating and evaluating learning surveys to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees' work behavior.
  • Prepare statistical reports to evaluate the performance of instructors and monitor the progress of trainees and training sessions. Use the information to improve the quality of the training based on responses.

Lifelong Learning
  • Stay abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development by becoming a member of ATD and / or attending certification training.
  • Network with industry and training professionals by attending trade shows and conferences to research and implement new training methodologies.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
  • Able to travel 25% of the time.
  • Able to get along well with others.
  • Ability to master the full Learning cycle.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern Learning methods, tools, and techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, Learning Management Software, and Yardi Voyager/CRM.

Salary range is $85,000-$100,000 annually. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a 401(K) match, rental incentive and renewal compensation, and bonuses depending on location. Regular full-time employees who work between 30-40 hours a week are eligible for medical, dental, vision, other voluntary benefits and vacation accrual. Sick time accrual is provided in accordance with law.
