Job description

Moody Excavating, LLC is currently seeking applications to fill an open position for heavy equipment master level III mechanic. We are looking for long-term candidates who value the opportunity for future advancement that our company offers. All positions with Moody Excavating, LLC require the ability to work overtime as needed and properly follow company polices and OSHA safety standards for a safe working environment.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Duties:
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment including off road trucks, excavators, dozers & rollers
  • Inspect, service, and adjust fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches
  • Handle the diagnosis and repair of complex electrical and electronic systems within diesel engines, including sensors, wiring, and control modules
  • Maintain accurate records of each repair performed
  • Ability to recognize mechanical, hydraulic, and formulate possible solutions
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain fuel injection systems, pumps, and injectors to optimize engine performance
  • Utilize advanced computerized tools and software for detailed diagnostics and troubleshooting of performance and emissions control systems
  • Use maintenance pro software on assigned equipment in the field and at corporate offices
Qualifications:
  • A thorough understanding of diesel engines and heavy construction equipment
  • Knowledgeable of both on road and off-road heavy machinery
  • Must be able to pass an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) inquiry
  • Must be able to use mechanics software to evaluate & close out work orders on assigned equipment
  • This job has no supervisory duties
  • 3+ Years as Diesel Technician with previous work experience
  • Skilled in using Volvo Powertrain (PTT), Detroit software, and other advanced diagnostic tools
  • Proficient in interpreting and troubleshooting pneumatic and wiring diagrams
