Description -

Job Summary:

  • This role is an Expert staff-level position within HP's Global Responsible Sourcing Team. This individual serves as a senior subject matter expert for responsible sourcing policy, human rights due diligence, living wage strategy, supplier requirements, supplier training, disclosures, and external stakeholder engagement. The role is expected to replace and build on Laura Castello's Human Rights Program Manager scope, including corporate-wide human rights risk assessments across the value chain, risk prevention and mitigation initiatives, grievance mechanism effectiveness, human rights policies and standards, mandatory and voluntary disclosures, emerging legislation analysis, Human Rights Council engagement, and peer benchmarking. The individual will translate complex regulatory, stakeholder, and supply chain expectations into practical requirements, positions, programs, and governance processes that help HP maintain market access, manage risk, and advance responsible sourcing leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns and leads HP's responsible sourcing policy, standards, and guidelines program, including annual review, update, retirement, approval routing, stakeholder socialization, and creation of new policies needed to address emerging human rights, environmental due diligence, market access, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as the Responsible Sourcing lead for supplier requirements, ensuring HP's Supplier Handbook, supplier portal content, and related communications remain current, practical, aligned to HP standards, and responsive to evolving regulations, customer expectations, ecolabel criteria, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Leads the design, governance, and execution of HP's supplier training and capability-building program, including prioritization of high-impact topics, coordination with subject matter experts, development of scalable training materials, and measurement of supplier engagement and effectiveness.
  • Develops and advances HP's living wage strategy, including assessment methodology, supplier engagement approach, benchmarking, disclosure readiness, customer response support, and alignment with responsible sourcing, human rights, due diligence, ecolabel, and public reporting priorities.
  • Leads human rights due diligence across HP's value chain, including corporate-wide risk assessments, prevention and mitigation initiatives, assessment of grievance mechanism effectiveness, and integration of findings into responsible sourcing strategy, supplier expectations, public disclosures, and regulatory readiness.
  • Develops and implements HP's human rights policies and standards, including the Human Rights Policy, Supplier Code of Conduct, Ethical Recruitment and Employment Standard, and related guidance needed to align internal governance, supplier requirements, and external commitments.
  • Drafts and coordinates HP's mandatory and voluntary human rights disclosures, including modern slavery statements, annual Sustainable Impact Report content, customer responses, rater and ranker submissions, and supporting evidence narratives.
  • Engages and presents to HP's Human Rights Council and other senior cross-functional governance forums, converting program performance, risk insights, peer benchmarking, and legislative developments into clear recommendations and executive-ready decisions.
  • Represents HP internally and externally as an Expert-level Public Affairs and responsible sourcing professional, building trusted relationships with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Communications, suppliers, industry groups, NGOs, raters, customers, and other stakeholders to shape credible positions, influence outcomes, and resolve complex issues.
  • Monitors and analyzes legislative, regulatory, customer, NGO, and industry developments affecting responsible sourcing and human rights, converting policy intelligence into actionable guidance, advocacy positions, implementation roadmaps, executive briefings, and supplier-facing expectations.
  • Provides expert judgment in ambiguous or high-risk situations, balancing legal, reputational, customer, supplier, and operational considerations while ensuring HP's public positions and responsible sourcing programs remain credible, evidence-based, and implementable.

Education & Experience Recommended:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Human Rights, Law, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Sustainability, Supply Chain, International Relations, Business, or a related field; legal training or experience with international human rights standards is preferred.
  • Typically has 8+ years of relevant experience in public affairs, responsible sourcing, human rights, sustainability, supply chain due diligence, policy, regulatory strategy, or stakeholder engagement, with demonstrated ability to operate independently as a senior subject matter expert in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Fluency in English, with strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills; additional languages are a plus for global stakeholder engagement.
