Job description

DCCM is looking for a Survey Director to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. The Director of Survey oversees all survey operations, ensures accurate data collection, and maintains compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to support survey teams and drive operational efficiency.
What You Will Do:
  • Lead and manage survey teams, including surveyors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Develop and implement survey strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Oversee field and office survey operations, ensuring data accuracy and quality control.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define survey requirements and deliverables.
  • Utilize modern survey equipment and technology, including GPS, GIS, and drone technology.
  • Prepare and review survey reports, maps, and documentation.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines for survey operations.
  • Train and mentor staff to enhance technical skills and professional development.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate innovative solutions into survey processes.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A professional Surveyor License (PLS) is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in land surveying, including leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in survey software and equipment such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, and GIS applications.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local survey regulations and standards.
  • Experience with drone surveying and LiDAR technology.
