Job description

Additional Information About the Role

BJC is looking for a Manager for our Data Visualization team.  This role will help lead the next generation of business intelligence by incorporating AI-powered capabilities into enterprise analytics solutions. Responsibilities include enabling conversational analytics through tools such as Power BI, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio,and AI agents, while continuing to advance enterprise dashboarding, self-service analytics, and data-driven decision making.

Roles requires 2+ years of experience with Power BI and knowledge of Data Bricks.

Must be located in the Greater St. Louis area

Role Purpose

This role leads the development and delivery of enterprise data visualization solutions that enable insights, decision support and business value across the organization. This role manages a team of visualization engineers and collaborates with business stakeholders, data stewards and IT Partners to ensure scalable and impactful analytical products. The position exists to advance self-service analytics, accelerate insight delivery, and ensure visualization best practices and governance are applied consistently across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and manage a team of data visualization engineers, overseeing project delivery, professional development, and adherence to standards in visualization design and engineering.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, analysts, data stewards, and enterprise IT teams to gather requirements, define visualization use cases, and ensure solutions align with strategic priorities and data governance practices.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of enterprise dashboards, visual analytics models, and decision support tools using platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or other leading solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and visual consistency across products, establishing and maintaining standards for usability, accessibility, and storytelling with data.
  • Support the advancement of visualization engineering maturity, including driving adoption of modern data stack tools, enabling user self-service, and evaluating emerging technologies for innovative use.
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
