Job description

You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the Force Protection Department of NAVBASE KITSAP SEC DET.Qualifications:In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge of law enforcement procedures, regulations, and operations to perform routine, recurring kinds of fixed post assignments; 2) Preparing police reports concerning incidents and actions taken; 3) Apprehending or detaining personnel by the use of force or police equipment (i.e., firearms, taser, Oleoresin Capsicum (OS) spray, 4) Conducting inspections of vehicle to detect the unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, explosives, or any items detrimental to security.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 month of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Employee is required to wear an assigned uniform and display official designated items or accessories to include additional required equipment. The employee must follow and adhere to applicable grooming standards for the installation.
Shall be required to be CPR certified and utilize a portable heard defibrillator where available.
Must meet OPM hearing and vision requirement to include distinguishing basic shades of color.
Completion of Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) is a condition of continued employment.
Must successfully pass an annual Physical Agility Test as a condition of continued of employment.Education:The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
Successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equals one hundred percent.
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (https://www.ed.gov/). Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
