Job Description

AECOM is seeking a proven transit and rail leader to anchor and expand our South Florida presence-someone who is ready to shape the next generation of transit investment in the region while building a high-performing, growth-driven business.

This is a market-facing leadership position designed for an individual who can capture major opportunities, elevate AECOM's brand, and attract top talent, Working in close partnership with senior leadership, this individual will lead strategy, drive capture, and deliver results, with full accountability for growth, client relationships, and P&L performance across AECOM's transit and rail portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the South Florida Transit Market

  • Serve as AECOM's visible, credible leader across the region-actively shaping conversations with agencies, partners, and industry stakeholders.

Drive Strategic Growth & Capture

  • Identify and secure major transit and rail opportunities, positioning AECOM to win and deliver marquee programs across Broward, Miami-Dade, and the broader region.

Build and Inspire a High-Performing Team

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent-creating a culture that attracts industry leaders and emerging professionals alike.

Strengthen Client Relationships at the Executive Level

  • Cultivate deep, trusted relationships with transit agency leadership, anticipating needs and positioning AECOM as a long-term strategic partner.

Own Business Performance (P&L Accountability)

  • Translate strategy into measurable results-driving revenue growth, backlog expansion, and strong project profitability.

Elevate AECOM's Competitive Position

  • Expand AECOM's role in program delivery, design-build pursuits, and major capital programs-enhancing our visibility and influence in the market.

Deliver Excellence Across Projects

  • Ensure consistent performance in quality, safety, technical delivery, and client satisfaction across all assignments.

Partner Across the Enterprise

  • Collaborate with national transit leadership, operations, and technical teams to bring the full strength of AECOM to South Florida clients.

Champion Culture and Values

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS and 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education, including 4 years of leadership experience.

Preferred:

  • Licensed Florida Civil Engineer 
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Leadership experience managing large teams, with prior P&L responsibility
  • Experience in scoping and estimating complex projects
  • Experience in tracking and managing task budgets and schedules
  • Experience developing extensive internal and external networks, with effective communication skills to inspire and lead others
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring technical staff, demonstrating knowledge of relevant technical skills and tools
  • Experienced working independently with minimal supervision while remaining team-oriented.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely with clients, leadership, and technical staff.
  • Experience managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
