Job's mission
As a Senior Equipment Technician on the EPI team, you play a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of ASM epitaxy systems that directly impact device quality and yield. Supporting two ASM EPI toolsets, you combine strong equipment expertise with process awareness to troubleshoot complex issues, lead technical escalations, and prevent recurrence. Your work enables advanced semiconductor innovation while strengthening safety, operational discipline, and continuous improvement across the factory.
SHIFT:
3:00 PM-12:00 AM shift, with a two-week on-call rotation every eight weeks, including weekend coverage.
What you will be working on
  • Support and maintain two ASM EPI toolsets, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, software, vacuum, thermal, and gas delivery subsystems
  • Clearly document, present, and explain technical issues during tool escalations to enable effective resolution
  • Apply basic process method knowledge to enhance root-cause analysis and correlate hardware behavior with process results
  • Resolve recurring alarms using standard fault trees; appropriately escalate unfamiliar or complex faults
  • Lead structured root-cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and related methodologies
  • Identify trends and recurring issues; implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce repeat events
  • Advise on complex retrofit kits, coordinating service activities with the production plan to minimize impact
  • Strictly follow safety procedures; help define work instructions and reinforce safe behaviors across the team
  • Ensure compliance and support internal and external audits
  • Maintain accurate service records, escalation documentation, and maintenance logs
  • Mentor junior technicians, particularly in disciplined troubleshooting and structured problem solving
  • Coordinate closely with escalation resources, engineering, process, and cross-functional partners

What we are looking for
  • Technical school (2-year program), or BS with 0-1 years of experience, or 5+ years of relevant equipment experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
  • Experience diagnosing vacuum, thermal, and gas delivery systems
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate technical issues during escalations
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and procedural discipline
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable using computer-based tools for documentation and tracking
