To thrive as a Volunteer Remote .NET Developer, you need proficiency in C#, .NET frameworks, and an understanding of software development principles, often demonstrated through relevant coursework or project experience. Familiarity with tools such as Visual Studio, Git for version control, and cloud platforms like Azure is commonly required. Strong communication, self-motivation, and time management are crucial soft skills for collaborating effectively in a remote, volunteer-driven environment. These skills ensure that high-quality code is delivered efficiently while supporting team cohesion and project goals despite remote and volunteer-based challenges.

What are Volunteer Remote .NET Developers?

Volunteer Remote .NET Developers are individuals who offer their programming and software development skills using the .NET framework to organizations without monetary compensation, and they work entirely from a remote location. They typically help nonprofits, open-source projects, or community initiatives build, maintain, or improve web and desktop applications. Their role involves coding, debugging, and collaborating with other team members online, often using tools like GitHub, Microsoft Teams, or Slack. This position allows volunteers to gain experience, expand their portfolios, and contribute to meaningful causes from anywhere in the world.

What types of projects and technologies can I expect to work on as a Volunteer Remote .NET Developer?

As a Volunteer Remote .NET Developer, you will often contribute to nonprofit or community-focused projects, such as web applications, internal management tools, or donation platforms built with the .NET framework. Collaboration is typically remote and asynchronous, involving tools like GitHub, Slack, or Microsoft Teams to coordinate with other developers, project managers, and stakeholders. This role allows you to gain hands-on experience while making a positive impact and building your professional portfolio.

Our mission at WesTech is to help industries and communities thrive by delivering highquality, sustainable water treatment solutions backed by exceptional service. To achieve this mission, we recruit great people to be part of our collegial and collaborative teams in technical sales, engineering, design, project management, field service, plant operations, professional services and more.

As one of the leading operating brands of Swire Water, our values of integrity, humility, endeavor, excellence, and continuity make this an outstanding working environment. Our continuing success creates attractive opportunities for purpose-driven professionals to develop new skills, support vital industries, and grow their careers.

Summary

WesTech is seeking a Regional Sales Manager focused on growing industrial product sales across the Central US. This role expands on the traditional local sales rep model and is designed around proactive prospecting, direct market engagement, and identifying highvalue industrial opportunities across strategic verticals, in addition to supporting independent sales representatives.

You will work closely with Business Development Managers, Solutions Sales Managers, Aftermarket Account Managers, and crossfunctional teams to qualify leads, advance opportunities, and close productfocused sales. You will also help expand WesTech’s presence in regions where rep coverage is reduced, limited, or eliminated.

We are entering a new growth chapter in our industrial business, expanding direct engagement in some areas, and modernizing how we identify, pursue, and win industrial opportunities. This role plays a central part in that transformation.

Some of the work you will do:

  • Proactively discover new industrial opportunities across priority markets
  • Build and maintain a strong network of customers, consultants, OEMs, former reps, and internal partners.
  • Develop expertise in assigned industrial market territories where rep coverage is changing or open.
  • Qualify and prioritize leads, ensuring the best opportunities are pursued.
  • Lead bidding strategies and negotiations to secure highvalue contracts.
  • Review proposals to ensure alignment with customer needs.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Develop annual territory goals and execute winning strategies.
  • Represent WesTech at industry events and trade shows.
  • Provide technical presentations and support to customers.
  • Monitor and mentor sales reps in your territory.
  • Collaborate with peers and leadership to ensure coverage and success across regions.

Here are the skills that you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years of technical sales or marketing experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Proven success in growing a sales territory.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% domestically/internationally.
  • Proficiency with CRM, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools.

Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences
  • Experience in water/wastewater markets and established industry relationships.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use a workstation (computer/phone) and move around the facility.
  • When at job sites, stooping, crawling, reaching, handling documents, boxes, etc. may be required.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Benefits and perks we offer:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based annual bonuses.
  • Dollar for dollar 401K match of 6%.
  • Flexible work hours, hybrid schedules with remote work options.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits package with an onsite (SLC) and virtual medical facility.
  • Company HSA contribution, Paid Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program
  • Company-paid Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Long-term Disability.
  • PTO plan and Paid Holidays.
  • Tuition Reimbursement.
  • Company celebrations, summer parties, volunteer opportunities, games, prize drawings, and more!
