Job description

Hospital Volunteers at Murray Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) support the mission by providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare by assisting patients, visitors, and staff with non-clinical services. Volunteers enhance the hospital experience by offering exceptional customer service, operational support, and community engagement while upholding MCCH values, policies, and standards of care. Must be at least 18 years old.

Essential Functions

• Greet patients and visitors and assist with wayfinding and general inquiries• Serve at information desks, welcome areas, or waiting rooms• Deliver non-clinical items such as flowers, mail, or comfort supplies• Transport patients by wheelchair, as assigned and trained• Provide companionship and emotional support as appropriate• Assist departments with clerical or administrative support• Support hospital-sponsored events or special projects• Communicate concerns to appropriate hospital staff• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA 

Functional Demands
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods• Ability to push wheelchairs or carts if assigned• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds• Ability to work in a healthcare environment
