Job description

Build precision on Second Shift in Germantown, WI

When the second shift lights come up at Toolcraft Machining, you’ll take the handoff and own the spindle. You’ll load fixtures, call up the program, and bring complex parts to life on equipment like a DMG MORI mill/turn with Siemens control and a Doosan PUMA turning center. You’ll measure twice (or more), cut once, and keep every feature inside .002"—often tighter—using your mastery of GD&T and G‑Code.

What a typical shift can look like
  • Set up and operate multi‑axis mill/turns (DMG MORI with Siemens), CNC lathes, CNC boring bars, and vertical machining centers—often with live tooling.
  • Run parts on machines such as Doosan PUMA 1214, Toshiba 150, and Toshiba 200.
  • Interpret blueprints, models, and routings to plan sequence, determine tolerances, and confirm setup requirements.
  • Select tooling; set offsets; build setups with blocks, fixtures, and clamps for safe, repeatable machining.
  • Dial in speeds/feeds, depths, and angles of cut; load or retrieve programs and edit at the control when needed.
  • Monitor tool wear, change inserts, and make manual adjustments to prevent out‑of‑tolerance conditions.
  • Inspect in‑process and final parts to GD&T requirements using precision hand metrology and gauges.
  • Keep your machine and work area clean and production‑ready at the end of every shift.
What you bring
  • 5+ years setting up and running CNC machining centers (turning, VMC, boring mill, and/or multi‑axis mill/turn).
  • Fluency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and G‑Code.
  • Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs.
Bonus points
  • Mastercam programming and on‑control editing experience.
  • Background in a job‑shop environment (low volumes, highly engineered work).
  • Overhead crane and hoist operation experience.
Schedule, pay, and perks
  • Full‑time, 2nd Shift.
  • Sign‑On Bonus.
  • Shift Premium.
  • Comprehensive benefits: Health, Dental, Vision; HSA; Life and Voluntary Life; 401(k) with match and discretionary Profit Sharing; Short‑Term Disability; Paid Holidays; PTO.
Proficiencies we value
  • GD&T
  • CNC Tooling
  • CNC Programming
  • G‑Code
  • Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology
  • Advanced Inspection & Gauge Measurement
  • Aerospace Manufacturing
Legal and compliance
  • Hourly – Non-Exempt
