Job description

Thank you for your interest in Colonial Williamsburg and the possibility of becoming a part of our Volunteer Program.
Volunteers help Colonial Williamsburg with our mission "that the future may learn from the past" by participating in areas throughout the Foundation. Current volunteer opportunities are available with our Paint Team, Gardens, Liberty Lounge, Historic Area Ambassadors, and the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg.
Positions vary and placement is considered after review of application by the Volunteer Program Manager. Volunteer positions have differing hour requirements based on department needs, but a minimum of one 4 hour shift per week is preferred. Volunteers must complete required hours to maintain status.
Once the application is received and reviewed by the Volunteer Program Manager, a placement is determined and communicated with the applicant. An agreed upon area supervisor will be in contact to initiate the interview process to determine if the position is a good fit for both parties. If the potential volunteer would like to explore another area this should be communicated to the Volunteer Program Manager. Not everyone who applies is placed, though we try to find placement for nearly all who apply.
Equal Opportunity Employer
This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
For further information, please review the Know Your Rights notice from the Department of Labor.
