Summary

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. A physician who provides long-term, comprehensive care in the office and the hospital, managing both common and complex illnesses of adolescents, adults and the elderly. Trained in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, infections and diseases affecting the heart, blood, kidneys, joints and digestive, respiratory and vascular systems. Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, FL is expanding and hiring an Internist(MD/DO) in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.

We are seeking an Internist Medicine or Family Medicine-trained physician to join our Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PAT) department. This position is dedicated to the comprehensive medical evaluation, risk assessment, and optimization of patients undergoing surgical procedures, with a focus on improving perioperative outcomes.

The PAT physician serves as a key member of the multidisciplinary perioperative team, evaluating patients with complex medical conditions, reviewing diagnostic testing and specialty consultations, assessing perioperative risk, and implementing evidence-based strategies to optimize chronic medical comorbidities prior to surgery. Responsibilities include identifying and managing issues that may affect surgical readiness, coordinating additional preoperative workup when necessary, and providing recommendations regarding medication management, cardiovascular risk reduction, diabetes management, anticoagulation, pulmonary optimization, and other perioperative considerations.

Salary Range

$243,339.20 - $303,246.32

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
