Summary:
This is a fast-growth position in the Database Team for a mentee to work 1:1 with an experienced mentor to become a senior Oracle Database Administrator and senior Oracle EBS DBA. The successful database technology professional at Wabtec will enjoy using and expanding their database understanding, oracle ebs knowledge, analytical and research abilities, written and verbal communication excellence, and passion for implementing critical infrastructure to supplement an existing, experienced team. This role is visible to multiple levels of internal and customer organizations, allows creative decision making and problem solving, and is rewarding for the candidate that thrives on teamwork as well as growth in database administration and design experience. The person in this role will come in with an open mind and zest for learning. The goal is to learn from and grow into a leadership role on the database team who can guide Wabtec into the future.
Location: Erie, PA; Pittsburgh, PA, Fort Worth, TX; Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; Melbourne, FL or other U.S. Wabtec locations may be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install, upgrade, configure, tune, debug, and patch all components of the Oracle 19c technology stack including Oracle GRID, ASM, Clusterware, and database instances
  • Install, upgrade, configure, tune, and debug all aspects of Oracle DataGuard
  • Monitor and tune Cloud databases and components
  • Monitor, patch, tune and debug Oracle EBS
  • Monitor database performance, space utilization, identify potential problems and ensure database availability
  • Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c
  • Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle pluggable database configurations using 19c
  • Designs, implements, and maintains database and database infrastructure security
  • Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to support COTS and/or developed products within the Oracle database framework
  • Implement architected HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability
  • Identify and develop automation of repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery using Linux scripting, SQL, PL/SQL and cron jobs.
  • Interface and communicate effectively across various support teams and with senior management
  • Support 24/7/365 applications based in local data centers, the cloud (AWS & OCI)
  • Research technology, support business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation
  • Manage the general contractor DBA team to ensure they follow standards and meet SLAs
  • Manage ticketing and incidents in ServiceNow to ensure SLAs are met or exceeded
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Associates Degree required or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years hand-on experience using Enterprise Oracle environments (version 12c minimum)
  • Minimum 5 years hand-on experience supporting Oracle EBS 12.2
  • RedHat Linux experience
  • Willingness, ability and capacity to learn rapidly

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The salary rate for this role is currently $91100-129800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
