Job description

Volunteer- Non Clinical ,Valley Health Partners
Location: 17th and Chew Street, Allentown, PA
Job Summary:
The volunteer will perform a variety of tasks depending on project deadlines and ongoing needs within the department. This could include administrative tasks or other projects as assigned by the Departmental Volunteer Coordinator to extend the resources to better assist and direct the needs of our patients.
This position will focus on helping patients navigate between Practices, support the VHP Financial Counseling team, and retrieving mail. Also responsible for folding and inserting mail into envelopes along with other miscellaneous office responsibilities.
Education:
  • High School Diploma, preferred.

Experience:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, required.
  • Ability to navigate through the different practices to retrieve correspondence.
  • Knowledge of Community Health Centers, preferred.
  • Administrative experience, preferred.

Prior to starting volunteer duties, volunteers must adhere to the following requirements and procedures in order to serve in a
volunteer capacity:
- Provide two satisfactory references from non-family members for Adult Volunteers, or a
satisfactory reference from a school for a youth volunteer
- Provide a receipt of an acceptable Pennsylvania criminal history check, Child Abuse History
Clearance and FBI fingerprinting
- Volunteer applicants living in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will have their
backgrounds checked through the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record
Check system (PATCH) (https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp)
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (CAHC) for volunteers with regular contact with
children. This is consistent with the volunteer requirements of ACT 152.
- Must complete the Federal Criminal History Record Information (FBI
Clearance.
- Show proof that Tuberculosis test has been done in the last year
- Show proof of Influenza Immunization (if volunteering between October-April)
-Sign a confidentiality agreement.
