Job description

The Data Center Technician is responsible for supporting the deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of server, network, and infrastructure equipment within Microsoft's data center environments. This role performs rack-and-stack activities, hardware break/fix, cabling installations, asset audits, and operational support while maintaining strict adherence to Microsoft safety, security, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, de-install, and re-install server, storage, and network equipment within the data center.
  • Perform rack-and-stack activities for new hardware deployments.
  • Install, route, label, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Conduct hardware diagnostics and break/fix activities on servers, switches, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Execute equipment startups, shutdowns, migrations, upgrades, and decommissioning activities following documented procedures and checklists.
  • Complete physical inventories and audits of data center assets.
  • Support Regional Network Gateway (RNG) installations and network deployment projects.
  • Monitor systems and identify equipment failures or performance issues.
  • Document work performed, update asset records, and maintain accurate ticketing information.
  • Escalate incidents, outages, and security concerns according to established procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with Microsoft Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), security, and operational requirements.

This is a Contract position based out of Goodyear, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.30 - $49.50/hr.
