Summary
Serves as a Program Analyst for intelligence operations within the Office of Protective Services at NASA Headquarters. The Program Analyst assists in the coordination of effective analysis, in collaboration with internal staff and other agencies, to achieve the organization's mission and support the Agency's strategic plan.

  • Conduct research, analyze data, identify trends, and prepare reports and assessments on topics of interest to NASA, specifically on space/counterspace topics.
  • Prepare and present research findings through briefings, assessments, reports, or recommendations to appropriate management and customers.
  • Coordinate with technical or scientific programs or projects, stakeholders, and other government agencies to ensure that space/counter space products are effective and addressing requirements.
  • Provide reliable intelligence program information and technical expertise and assistance by utilizing deep expertise on worldwide space capabilities and entities.
  • Compile and analyze intelligence reporting and disseminate assessments that include the analysis of unforeseen developments, emerging technologies, and rapidly shifting environments or issues.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
  • Gathering, analyzing, and assessing various threats and impacts and recommending alternative courses of action that enables a timely effectively response to reduce risk and mitigate threats;
  • Communicating both orally and in writing to present sometimes controversial assessments, positions, and issues; and gains cooperation from others through analytical competence, tact, and diplomacy;
  • Preparing reports and briefings of a highly specialized and sensitive nature on a range of major issues that may have a significant impact on the Agency.
