Job description

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in San Anselmo, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in San Anselmo, CA!

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in San Anselmo, CA!
  • Schedule: 25 hours per month; 2 hours per day, 3 days a week
  • Rate is between $25 and $35 per hour

Ideal Candidate:

  • Valid teaching credential required
  • Strong background in reading intervention, dyslexia support, and writing development
  • Experience teaching Algebra I concepts, including graphing, slope, and problem-solving strategies
  • Skilled in supporting reading comprehension, summarization, and written/verbal communication development
  • Familiarity with Lindamood-Bell-inspired instructional approaches and visualization strategies preferred
  • Experience working with students who benefit from processing time and structured support
  • Patient, engaging, and conversational with a calm, encouraging teaching style
  • Comfortable incorporating project-based and hands-on learning activities
  • Able to provide supplemental curriculum and intervention materials in reading and math as needed
  • Strong understanding of executive functioning and pacing strategies for neurodiverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction in reading comprehension, summarization, and written expression
  • Support Algebra I concepts including slope, slope-intercept form, graphing, and multi-step problem solving
  • Reinforce verbal and written communication skills through guided discussion and structured response development
  • Use visualization and comprehension strategies aligned with reading intervention methodologies
  • Develop engaging, project-based learning activities that incorporate both visual and written components
  • Allow appropriate processing time while encouraging active participation and independent thinking
  • Incorporate structured questioning, modeling, and scaffolding to strengthen understanding
  • Provide supplemental reading and math materials when additional reinforcement is needed
  • Integrate movement breaks and regulation strategies to maintain focus and engagement during sessions
  • Build a supportive, conversational learning environment that encourages confidence and academic growth
