Job Summary
This position is to assist with a research project in mathematics education, with a particular focus on precalculus students¿ understanding of rate of change.
The major duties of the research assistant are to assist in collecting, managing, transcribing, and analyzing research data. Training will be provided for these duties.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at UWG in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
- Must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- A sound understanding of Precalculus and Calculus I.
- Flexibility to work approximately 10¿15 hours per week from September 2026 through April 2027.
- Reliability and attention to detail for transcription, coding, and data management. Training will be provided.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions
- The assistant should also be able to use Microsoft Teams to record interviews and use computers and Microsoft applications such as Teams, Word, and Excel.
- The position may require extended periods of computer use for transcription, data management, and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- An interest in becoming a teacher is preferred but not required.
