Job description

Shady Grove Medical CenterIf you are a current Adventist HealthCare employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Master Craftsman for our Operation Facilities Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Master Craftsman you will:
Perform advanced carpentry work including framing, drywall installation/repair, ceiling systems, doors, cabinetry, flooring, and finish carpentry.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to execute projects accurately. Construct, install, and repair structural and non-structural elements in patient care and non-patient care areas.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and organized conditions.
Perform installation of specialized tile systems, and finishes, such as quarry and porcelain tile, and vinyl wall protection.
Perform patching, sanding, caulking, and sealing to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
Select appropriate materials that comply with healthcare infection prevention and durability standards.
Set up, maintain, and remove ICRA barriers (rigid and soft) to contain dust and contaminants during construction and maintenance activities. 10%
Install negative air machines, HEPA filtration systems, and other infection control measures.
Ensure compliance with hospital infection control policies, Joint Commission standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct daily inspections of barriers and containment areas to ensure integrity and effectiveness.
Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and healthcare-specific safety standards and procedures.
Follow all infection prevention, life safety, and interim life safety measures (ILSM) policies.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately for construction and remediation tasks.
Participate in safety training and maintain required certifications.
Qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Vocational or technical training in carpentry preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in carpentry and construction.
Experience working in healthcare or regulated environments is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in ICRA barrier installation and mold remediation.
OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (within 6 months of employment)
ICRA Certification or equivalent training
Mold Remediation Certification (e.g., IICRC or similar)
Valid driver's license (if applicable)

Work Schedule:

Employment Type: Full-time
Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week
Typical Daily Schedule: predominantly 2ndshift, ( 2:30pm-10pm) flexibility is needed since work may be on any shift including weekends.
Shift Type: Rotating
Weekend Requirements: As needed, estimated at 1x a month if any.
Holiday Requirements: Required/ Rotating Follow company holiday calendar
On-Call: no
Shift Differential Eligible: Yes

Pay Range:

$32.17 - $48.25
