Job Summary:
This job is primarily responsible for supporting the visual evaluation processes in the Backshop (PreTest, AVI, Defect Eval) and focusing on improving training, skill retention, and consistent product disposition across the 30+ operators performing these functions. The individual can expect to spend >75% of their time interacting with operators and dispositioning non-conforming product. Other work includes but would not be limited to optimization of manufacturing processes, implementation of cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination) and training production employees to improve work processes and product quality. Generally, this individual will work to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production issues.
A successful candidate will be able to read, understand, and follow procedures. They will also need to have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Candidate will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or related work experience
  • 2+ years of training adults
  • Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques
  • Strong observational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
  • Must have the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with assembly/review/inspection of mechanical assemblies
  • Experience using electrical test equipment and optical microscopes
  • Experience writing MS Access queries
  • Experience with statistical analysis software: Minitab, JMP, Cornerstone, etc.
  • Experience with coding and scripting development: Visual Studio (VB.net, C#, C+. etc.), Python, JSL (JMP scripting language), or similar
  • Experience with process improvement
  • Six Sigma certification (Yellow, Green, Black Belt)
