About the team:

The DV+ Platform Team is looking for a Staff Java Engineer to help push our platform to the next level. In this role, you will design and implement the microservices powering our customer-facing and internal APIs, which span onboarding, customer configurations, ad serving, and reporting. If you thrive in an environment where you are challenged with solving complex problems that drive impact and scale across the business, this team offers the perfect opportunity to develop solutions across Magnite's highly diverse product and engineering areas.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of software projects from inception to deployment.

  • Be a creative problem solver who can draw on an array of expertise and technology to design and implement reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions to challenging problems

  • Works closely with business stakeholders to deliver the most appropriate results

  • Lead the technical specification, development, integration, testing, and release of software components

  • Identify and address technical challenges, optimize code for performance, and participate in ongoing code refactoring.

We're looking for someone with:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering related degree or equivalent work experience

  • 6+ Years of production coding experience, preferably in server-side Java

  • Expertise in Service-oriented architectures, microservices, advanced database schemas, relational and nonrelational databases, and highly scalable/available web services.

  • Hands-on experience building RESTful Web Services using Spring Boot and Docker.

  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., EC2, ECS, or cloud deployment workflows).

  • Strong database proficiency, including relational databases (SQL, Hibernate, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres) and NoSQL solutions (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB).

  • Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.

  • Proficiency with modern CI/CD and development tools, including Maven, Git, Jenkins, Puppet, and Jira.

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (TDD, Mocking, Unit/Functional/Integration)

  • Familiarity with a variety of programming/scripting languages; experience with JavaScript and React component libraries (e.g., Ant Design, Material UI, React Bootstrap) is a plus.

  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and integrating advanced AI workflows or Model Context Protocol (MCP) to accelerate delivery is an asset.

  • Strong ability to context-shift and effectively manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Bonus points if you have experience managing direct reports or leading teams.

In CA, the base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $180,000.
Actual compensation will be determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

In CO, the base salary range for this role is $155,000 - $165,000.
