Dear Volunteer -
Welcome to the Indian River School District! Thank you for your dedicated service to the children of our district by volunteering your time and talent to support our students' academic achievement and personal development.
The safety of our children is the number one priority of the Indian River School District. As a result, our Board of Education has passed a policy to ensure a consistent level of background investigations for all positions in the Indian River School District. In order to volunteer in our schools, all volunteers must have a background check done by the Delaware State Police.
If you are ready to continue with the volunteer process, please complete the following steps:
  1. Complete an online application at www.irsd.net/departments/human-resources
    • Click on the "Employment Opportunities" menu on the website and select the Volunteer posting under Student Support Services, then click "Apply."
    • You will be directed to the Join Delaware Schools applicant page where you can login if you have an existing account or for new users,ย click on "Start an application for employment."
  2. Once your application is submitted, you will receive an invitation via email to create an account through our onboarding platform, Frontline Central. All Volunteer Forms are completed through Frontline Central.
  3. Submit a copy of your driver's license through Frontline Central or by emailing it directly to Suzanne.Lingo@irsd.k12.de.us.
  4. Fingerprintย receipt -ย Fingerprintingย procedures can be found on the Human Resources website link above or click here to go directly to the scheduling website.ย  The cost is $38.00 & the Service Code for Volunteers to register for an appointment isย 27RZNS
Once the application process is complete, you will be contacted by a staff member from your selected school to schedule your volunteer time.ย
