Job description

Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent

Location: Westchester County, NY

Build the Infrastructure That Keeps Communities Moving

We're seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on utility, roadway, site development, and infrastructure projects throughout Westchester County and the surrounding area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily field operations for utility, excavation, grading, drainage, paving, and site development projects.
  • Manage crews, Foremen, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, and work plans with Project Managers.
  • Oversee water main, sewer, storm drainage, and underground utility installations.
  • Monitor safety, quality, productivity, equipment, and manpower on-site.
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure work is completed accurately.
  • Maintain communication with engineers, inspectors, municipalities, and utility companies.
  • Support project documentation, RFIs, change orders, and reporting.
Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Strong background in underground utilities, site development, excavation, earthwork, drainage, and roadway construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA 10 and First Aid certifications.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred

  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with municipal, DOT, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of RFIs, change orders, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Familiarity with Westchester County construction and permitting requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westchester, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
