These roles are typically found in indie teams, non-profits, or educational settings where developers collaborate to create games for experience, passion, or portfolio building. Volunteers may work on programming, art, design, audio, or other aspects of game development. This experience can help developers improve their skills, expand their network, and potentially lead to paid opportunities in the industry.
