Job description

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Leading New York City Animal Hospital has several opening for Licensed Veterinary Technicians on the following units::

  • Internal Medicine & Dialysis  
  • Cardiology
  • Emergency & Critical Care
  • Integrative & Rehabilitative Medicine
  • Internal Medicine & Dialysis LVT
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Avian & Exotic Pet Medicine
  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Surgery
  • LVT Director of OR
  • LVT Manager of Emergency and Critical Care (ECC)

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and execute treatment plans
  • Operate and/or monitor Heska and syringe pumps, Cardell blood pressure monitors, Doppler monitors and blood gas machines
  • Place jelco and sampling catheters and collect blood samples
  • Update patient records and monitor patient activity
  • Maintain stock and order supplies
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of the unit
  • Participate in the training of new employees and volunteers

Qualifications:

  • New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician’s or permit
  • One year animal handling experience and ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds

Salary: $62,000 - $83,000
